My manta never shifted very well. Here is my solution. I used a Neon Shifter and two sets of neon cables. The pictures show the adapter components.

Notes |
Purchased on April 1980 from Paul Cornies of Leamington Ontario, Canada. Car was Semi-assembled. I registered car in Michigan in 1984.
Since then I changed color to Mclaren Orange. Replaced VW front Suspension with a Corvair K-Member a mustang Rack and pinion and disc brakes. Front headlight buckets electrically controlled using two Fiero Motors and a Double throw double pull relay. Interior is custom. Added a few air ducts to the body. Changed windsheild wiper to single, using wiper motor out of dodge mini-van. Current engine is 350 Chevrolet with 650 Holley.
Engine was assembled at McLaren Engines in Liviona, Michigan. Run Goodrich p225/60 14 on front and p295/50 15 on rear.
I just have a lot of fun particpating in events in the Detroit area with my Manta Mirage. It always gets a second look when it goes down the street. To bad I'm not 21 and single. |
