I picked up car in mid January 02. I completely disassembled it and cleaned and repainted the frame, rebuilt and reinstalled the front and rear suspensions, rebuilt the powerglide transaxle and reinstalled it with a 355 Chevy engine.The engine is balanced with throttle body injection and a performance cam. Nothing fancy here the transaxle can't take to much torque as you all know. I'm hoping the powerglide will soften some of the shock, we will see. The fuel system is in as well as the cooling system. About 80% of the wiring is completed. I had to replace all of the wiring, switches etc. This car had been completely finished at one time but was in poor condition when I got it. It needed a complete restoration but was a good buy as a lot of the major pieces were reuseable. The only big disappointment was that it didn't have a Mustang front suspension as was listed by the seller. The doors were glassed in to the body so I cut those out. I have a few ideas of my own I'm going to use and I'll see how it works out. |
