Notes I'm in the process of putting a Cadillac 4.6L Northstar and trans in this car! The trouble is, the Northstar is wide where the halfshafts come out of trans! Had to come up with different wheel offsets and suspension in order to end up with halfshafts long enough for the suspension travel and not have the tires end up outside of wheel wells! Also, because of the width and shape of the Northstar, it's been a battle trying to get A-arm attachment points placed that will allow enough susp travel and so that the inner points hinge in relation to the U-joints and still keep the geometry (camber change during travel) in an acceptable range and still keep the wheels inside (length of A-arms) the wheel wells. When I get this about where they need to be, it forces the motor to sit higher than I would like to see. This doesn't help the center of gravity! Trying 98 vette rear suspension now and so far it looks better and may end up at least acceptable! If it doesn't work out, I may exchange the 4T80E for a Porsche and install the works in the more traditional North/South configuration instead of East/West (transverse or cross ways). More later!
