Diagrams

This section should be followed carefully and used to make the installation of many of the major components later much easier. Primarily, this section will be involved with taking various measurements that you can refer back to later when installing many of the major components in regards to chassis and body clearance.

Use the diagrams provided in this section and list the measurements that the diagrams call for. Also, you should mark all of the body components at the seam lines. Do so by using masking tape stretched across the seams of the body components. For example:

1. From the tail section to the lower body side pods (vertically).

2. From the tail section to the cab section (horizontally).

3. From the front of the door body section to the side pod (vertically).

Repeat this marking on both sides of the car. Cut the tape at the seam and press it down on the body. Be sure all of the tape edges are aligned from body component to body component These tape marks will be used when re-installing the body for alignment purposes.

Other measurements required are as follows:

1. Measure the distance from the top side of the nose frame to the body. This measurement will help to determine the radiator location for body clearance.

2. Measure the distance from the bottom of the nose frame to the lower body panel vertically.

3. Measure and mark with masking tape, the extreme sides of the console tunnel on the top side of the crossmembers. Use those marks for reference when installing the water tubes, brake lines and shifting linkage.

After you have marked down the measurements called for in this section, proceed to the next section.
